Hello everyone...we are the sole remaining Gilliatts!
2011 finds us all in good health and good spirits. As the school year comes to a close, we are all looking forward to a nice long summer vacation. We live in Grantham, NH surrounded by the white mountains and just a 20 minute drive from Dartmouth College. Since our last trip to the Cape, some of us have gotten taller, while some of us appear to have gotten shorter (Michele). In addition to our family, we have several furry critters, including Magnolia, an adopted Australian shepherd, 2 black cats, Stanley and Oliver, and 2 rats, Clarice and Sophia. Although free time is hard to come by, outside of school and work, we try to enjoy the seasons of NH whether at the Tunbridge World's Fair in the fall, or Easter with snow on the ground in "the spring". Looking forward to a warm exciting week on the Cape.

John is a press department manager at Dartmouth Printing in Hanover, NH, printing local magazines and journals. This spring, work has proven to be quite a challenge, as Dartmouth Printing is undergoing a large reconstruction project. Three years ago, John joined a community a cappella group called Harmony Night. He sings bass and has learned to appreciate the art of choreography! He has several performances throughout the year, so there is always new music to practice. John is recovering from several broken toes caused by a scuffle with the couch, leaving his golf game and amateur tennis with his daughter temporarily on hold.
Michele works as a special education paraprofessional at the local grade school. In addition to her school activities, she is also a member our church parish council. Michele enjoys gardening and animals which is evidenced by her band of furry followers around the house. She is a loyal sports fan and can be found sitting on the gym bleachers or sunburned at the track! Michele made her debut as a career coach, while Colleen waded through the college application process. Michele is looking forward to a week of "real vacation" on the Cape.
Colleen, as a recent High School graduate has been enjoying her easy transition into summer vacation including work and college preparation. Last year, she traveled to Japan with her grandmother on a whirlwind trip in 10 days. Since the trip, life in NH has been a little less exciting but High school life has kept her busy with sports and music. In addition to the alto sax. this year she taught herself to play the French horn, and would love to learn to play the cello. After returning from the outdoor track national championship, she is looking forward to a week off from running! Colleen will be attending Saint Michael's College in the fall.
Margaret is a soon to be freshman in High School and is looking forward to testing out life without her big sister around. Margaret participated in the Junior High band and chorus this last year. Margaret loves to read and listen to music and can drain an iTunes card in a matter of minutes. Since her last trip to the Cape, Margaret has come close to surpassing her older sister in height...but not weight! Margaret is ready to leave small town NH life behind for a week at the beach on the Cape!
