OUR NEWS: Since our last reunion in 2005 we have sold our home of 25 years (!) in Virginia Beach and have moved back to New England. We now live in one of the villages of Northampton (Florence) in a condominium where the building of 42 units is slowly going on all around us. Having had a hand in the design we love it and, of course, we love the Pioneer Valley and the 5 college atmosphere. It’s especially nice, too, that it’s within 3 miles of the Butler family with 2 of our grandchildren and that it’s just 2 hours away from Judy. Except for that move, bringing us closer to Cape Cod and family, we’ve lived a quiet life. Church, family, friends here in Bear Hill and travel keep us pleasantly busy.
In the last year or so we’ve visited Egypt and sailed down (up) the Nile. We also recently spent a delightful 10 days on a National Geographic charter sailing the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and Panama culminating in a transit of the Panama Canal. (Despite 30 years in the Navy, this was a first for Hank.) We’ll be in the Galapagos Islands, retracing Darwin’s steps, this fall and then in February of 2012 we’ve signed up for a Safari in Tanzania during the great migration on the Serengeti. And we’re getting older.
This last April we celebrated our 56th anniversary! Between this reunion and our next we’re determined to spend more and more time on Cape Cod in the old family homestead. And maybe we’ll drop in to visit with some of you.
